British Submersible Pilot Praises Diesel Powered Sub |
Alan Whitfield,
a top British submersible pilot and leading civilian authority on manned
submersibles, expounds accolades over a new Diesel Powered Submarine, available
for the first time to the commercial and marine science industries. "The
U.S. Corsair RS-1 is a remarkable vessel " States Whitfield. "I have been
on board her several times now, and each time I become more impressed." The
RS-1 is available through Kokes Marine Technologies LLC in the US.
It is a
state-of-the-art manned submarine capable of over 400nm range without the
need of a large and expensive support vessel. It is ideally suited for side
scan, seismic, salvage, sub-sea inspections, marine research and archaeology.
"There is room for six people in the spacious corporate-jet like cabin."
Whitfield continued "With a galley, head and sleeping quarters, everyone
could live in there quite comfortably. Considering the submarine's many potential
uses, the daily rate makes this the most affordable sub-sea intervention
vehicle available today. It seems that the NR-1 will no longer be lonely!"
