| Sonardyne
To Launch Newest Development Of Pharos Software At Offshore Europe |
The next stage
in the development of Pharos acoustic navigation software from Sonardyne
International Ltd will be presented at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen (Stand
No 1258). The new Pharos Survey package has been developed for Long Baseline
(LBL) acoustic applications providing users with the capability of simultaneously
tracking multiple vessels, vehicles or mobile transponders. Pharos Survey
has been developed to provide the surveyor with a versatile tool capable
of both simple and complex tasks while remaining straightforward and logical
to operate.
Visitors to the
Sonardyne stand will be able to gain hands-on experience of the new Pharos
Survey software which is the result of a major investment by Sonardyne aimed
at achieving a generic approach to navigation software. It is part of a family
of software 'building blocks' that can be used to configure a wide range
of tracking and positioning programs. The software has been designed to ensure
compatibility with all current and planned Sonardyne acoustic transceivers
and beacons in addition to many other instruments and sensors.
Users of Sonardyne
equipment can now benefit from being able to share a common user interface
with on-line interactive help and simulation modes. The simplicity of the
user interface will dramatically reduce the amount of operator training required
and therefore reduce the number of problems occurring in the field. The interface
has been designed in close co-operation with clients and potential users
who have generated ideas and provided feedback on the overall feel and
functionality of the software.
Sonardyne International
is based in Yateley, England and has offices in Aberdeen, Houston, Singapore,
Brazil and Oslo. It is recognised as a world leader in the design and manufacture
of advanced acoustic instruments and systems for accurate survey, positioning
and tracking in shallow and full ocean depth operations within the offshore
oil and gas industries.
