Technologies-NavCom Technology Commercial Agreement For
StarFire DGPS |
September 4,
2001 - C&C Technologies, Inc., an international survey company, and NavCom
Technology, Inc., a subsidiary of Deere & Company, announced today that
they have entered into a commercial agreement for the supply of StarFire
differential GPS receivers and signals worldwide. This agreement is exclusive
to offshore operations pertaining to satellite navigation positioning on
projects for surveying, mapping, geophysics, mining, cable laying and offshore
construction, installation, inspection, and maintenance operations.
Commercial marine,
land survey, GIS, defense, land seismic, fleet management and all applications
not reserved to C&C Technologies or to specific John Deere business units
will be managed through value-added resellers, brand-labeling or OEM arrangements
by NavCom Technology. NavCom has constructed the StarFire system and
will maintain the system and continue to improve its performance in both
signals and receivers. Various earlier announcements have been made regarding
the StarFire system and specific technology partnerships. These

C&C Technologies
will employ the brand name C-Nav for its operations. C-Nav's foundation
is the StarFire system and receivers; however, C-Nav provides

Marine And Santa Fe Announce $6Billion Merger of Equals |
Combo Creates
World's Second-Largest Offshore Drilling Contractor
HOUSTON and DALLAS, TX. - September 3, 2001 -- Global Marine Inc. (NYSE:
GLM) and Santa Fe International Corporation (NYSE: SDC) announced today that
they have entered into a definitive agreement to merge in a stock-for-stock
transaction that will create the world's second largest offshore drilling
contractor. The new company, which will be named GlobalSantaFe Corporation,
will be headquartered in Houston and will trade on the New York Stock Exchange
under the ticker symbol "GSF." Based on Santa Fe's closing stock price on
Friday, August 31, GlobalSantaFe would have a market value of approximately
$6 billion.
By combining
complementary resources, GlobalSantaFe will have the operational scale and
market coverage to deliver superior service to the world's leading oil and
gas companies. The new company will be the premier worldwide contract driller,
with one of the industry's youngest, most diversified and technologically
advanced drilling fleets. The new company will also operate over 100 rigs
in the world's key drilling markets, with its own fleet of 59 offshore and
31 land drilling rigs and 13 rigs operated for others. In addition, the new
company will be the world's leading provider of drilling management services,

Profiler upward looking sonar instruments to the State Institution
Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (SI AARI) of St. Petersburg,

summer. The instruments will be used to gather ice draft and other data during

Energy To Acquire Anderson Exploration Becoming North America's Largest
Independent Producer Of Oil And Natural Gas |
(BUSINESS
WIRE)--Sept. 4, 2001--Devon Energy Corporation (AMEX:DVN)(TSE:NSX.) and Anderson
Exploration Ltd. (NYSE:AXN) (TSE:AXL.) announced today that the boards of
directors of both companies have unanimously approved an acquisition
agreement.
Pursuant to the
agreement, Devon has agreed to acquire the outstanding common shares of Anderson
for C$40.00 (US$25.80)(i) per share in cash. The aggregate value of the offer,
including Devon's assumption of approximately US$1.2 billion of debt and
other obligations of Anderson, is approximately US$4.6 billion. In the Anderson
transaction, Devon will acquire estimated proved reserves of 532 million
barrels of oil equivalent and approximately eight million net undeveloped
acres. Devon has allocated $680 million of the aggregate purchase price to
Anderson's undeveloped acreage and seismic data.
This agreement
follows Devon's August 14, 2001 announcement that it intends to acquire Mitchell
Energy & Development Corp. for a total of US$3.5 billion. Upon successful
completion of both transactions, Devon will be the largest independent producer
of oil and natural gas in North America. Both transactions are expected to
close in the fourth quarter of 2001. Devon and Mitchell expect to amend the
preliminary joint proxy statement/prospectus that has been filed with the
SEC. The amended joint proxy statement/prospectus will include the pro forma
effects of the Anderson acquisition. Neither the Mitchell nor the Anderson
transactions are conditional upon each other.
Canadian
Operations:
Devon's Canadian operations are conducted by its wholly-owned subsidiary
headquartered in Calgary. Anderson's operations will be merged with Devon's
Canadian operations. John Richels, President and CEO of Devon's Canadian
subsidiary, commented, "By combining our existing Canadian staff with Anderson's,
we will build one of the strongest workforces in the Canadian oilpatch. We
expect a very smooth integration of Anderson's staff and properties and

Awarded World's Largest High-res 3D Petrobras Survey |
PARIS--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--Aug. 30, 2001--CGG (NYSE:GGY - news) has been awarded the world's
largest High-Resolution 3D seismic survey by the Brazilian Oil company, Petrobras
under a non exclusive contract. The 2700+ sq. km area to be imaged by this
new acquisition is located in the highly productive offshore Campos Basin
in Brazil.
The main objective
of Petrobras in recording this High-Resolution Seismic survey is to ``ring
fence'' the producing field for the first time with the highest quality seismic
available. This improved High-Resolution survey will provide a better image
and understanding of the producing reservoir. This type of survey has the
added benefit of serving as the baseline survey for future 4D programs to
monitor the producing reservoir over the entire lifetime of the field.
Acquisition and onboard processing will be performed in this complex area
by the CGG Harmattan, including on-board processing with completion of final
onshore migration processing by CGG's reservoir processing group located
in Paris, France.

Acquires Triton Elics Hydro Suite 150 |
The Naval Undersea
Warfare Center (NUWC) (Keyport, Washington) has acquired a Hydro Suite 150
multibeam survey system from Triton Elics International (TEI) (Watsonville,
California). NUWC's existing ancillary sensors were integrated in TEI's
workstation, with acquisition and processing performed by a TEI workstation
running Isisâ Bathy and Bathy ProÔ. The system is based on a
KSML SM 2000 multibeam sonar with a swath coverage of 150 degrees.
Bathymetry DTMs
are created in real-time with Bathy Pro RT in TEI's GIS and analysis software,
Delphâ Map. Hydro Suite's portability was a key factor in NUWC's choice
of a multibeam system. NUWC will use the Hydro Suite 150 in conjunction with
towed sidescan sonar to provide detailed information of areas of interest.For
